Sitting 103: Peoples who respect nature
During your life you have heard of the spiritual people such as the North American Indians and the Aborigines of Australia who understood the spiritual aspect of nature. They were brought up with a respect for the earth and the mountains and the trees and plants and in fact everything which was a part of the whole earth and they worshiped them accordingly.
They lived as a tribal society and would work and fight together in the same way that we do today as a national society.
They loved and hated just as we do today and they solved their disputes much the same as we do. They reared their children and mourned their dead and they suffered from greed and avarice and jealousy.
So dear siblings how is it that we think of them as being savages or inferior to us modern people when they were exactly as we are now.
The fact that we have all these things like washing machines and cars and grand buildings etc. has made not the slightest difference to us. We have progressed physically and mentally to the stage where we are about to reach out for the stars and our lives are not so strenuous as in days gone by, but, we are still basically the same as those whom we now consider to be primitive.
Man has advanced so much that his forefathers would have considered themselves to be in heaven nowadays, but he is still the same basic man that he was a thousand years ago and he will continue to be the same until he learns to treat all of his siblings the same as he treats himself.
