Sitting 118: Your pathway through all lives

Beloved brother we are here once again to talk to you about your pathway, not just of this life but of all your incarnations and the periods between your sojourns on the physical plane.

There comes a time quite early in your growth when you begin to wish for more in your life than the grosser levels of materialism which we all go through and which we all need to experience so that we can realise within ourselves the beauty’s of advancement and the wonders of those levels which are above us and, at present, beyond our reach. The slow advance continues as we lift ourselves through, level by level, until we become ready to begin our learning on the physical plane. There then begins a process of advancement where we visit different levels of civilised life and we keep on returning to different situations, both rich and poor, highly educated and ignorant, we have lives where we are vastly productive and others where we are sterile, happy lives and sad lives, caring lives and uncaring lives.

Each and every situation that we experience adds to the sum total of our inner or spiritual self and it is another step up the ladder of progress until there comes a time when, having progressed sufficiently, we grow in our desire to help others and so another stage of our enlightenment and progress begins.

There are times during our progress when we seem to stand still and others when we seem to lose our desire to keep going and it is a while before we get back on track as it were. There are even times when we seem to go backwards for a while but eventually we regain our drive for

progress and find that we have relearned some of our lessons in a better way. All of these ups and downs have the effect of refining our spirituality and are instrumental in ensuring that we have got it right. It is, after all, of little use progressing rapidly if the end result is of second grade. This is the main reason why we are presented with some lessons again, and in some cases again and again.

Another reason for being given a lesson again is to be presented with a different aspect of the same lesson so be not upset if you find yourself being presented with the same sort of problem. It is not that you have failed to learn the lesson but that you required a broader aspect of it.

We have spoken before of the failure to attain something being the lesson and we bring it up again to remind you that the attempt to do something is very often more important than the result of your attempt.

The adage ‘If at first you don’t succeed, try try again’ is one which we recommend wholeheartedly.
