Sitting 133: Sermons from the pulpit
Beloved brother we would speak to you tonight on the sermons which you receive from the pulpits or platforms of the churches where and if you go to worship your Creator.
Many of you take very little notice of the lessons which are given on these occasions and we think it very sad that this is the case. You have made the effort to attend the service and yet you ignore the one part which, when you have thought about it, can bring you a portion of knowledge which can make a small or large difference to your way of life. The lessons you can learn from the different interpretations of these lessons are so varied that you can never be sure where they will lead you or even how they will affect you. Even if it be something which makes the tiniest difference to some part of your present knowledge. We would remind you of the saying ‘Great Oaks from little Acorns grow’ and we would ask you to think on these lessons before you discard them.
In its way this is true of everything which happens in your life so even if you never go to church you can still receive many lessons from the ordinary everyday events of life. Look for them, think on them, learn from them, and who knows where they may lead you.
