Sitting 266: The Widow's Mite

Beloved brother we would join you once again with our love and this evening we would speak of the Widow’s Mite.

Many of you will not know of the Widow’s mite for you have left behind the Christian bible and all the wonderful lessons that it can teach all of us who are on the spiritual pathway.

The story of the Widow’s mite is a story of two people. One of them was a very rich man who, every week, gave hundreds of coins to the Synagogue. The other person was a widow who only had one coin left for the rest of the week and yet she gave this coin to the church.

The question asked was who gave the most to God. The widow who gave one coin, all that she had, or the rich man who gave hundreds but could have afforded thousands.

The moral of the story is of course not what you give of what you have, but what you give of yourself for that which you give of yourself you will take with you when you go through the veil and that which you have of the earth you will leave behind.
