Sitting 30: Service

Once again it is time to start our service to our siblings and we would take the theme of service as our subject for tonight. We often hear it said that service takes many forms and this is so true. The laying on of hands, The absent healing which so many of you send out, these are one way of serving our brothers and sisters. Others which are more frequent but seldom thought of as healing are the kind words of sympathy when something has gone wrong with someone’s life. Others are the kind acts which no one thinks of as service when you do these things. Thoughts of

condolence also come into the ranks of service since these thoughts of ours go out into the spiritual planes and they do reach the spirits whom you think of and give upliftment to them. Sympathy for someone’s troubles will help them in a spiritual way and though the body and the brain will never know your thoughts the spirit will receive your kind thoughts and will be uplifted by them.

The power of thought has been explained so many times so we will not linger on this other than to point it out as a form of service.

Other forms of service include finding a spider in the bath and gently putting it outdoors or finding a snail on the footpath and moving it to a safe place. All of these are acts of service to our siblings and all of them are recorded and noted in our book of life.
