Sitting 359: The purpose of prayer

Beloved Brother we are with you once again that we may pass on the words of wisdom to our siblings. We would speak tonight of the purpose of prayer for many of you have no conception of its true purpose. How many people do you know who pray to God for material wealth or an improvement to their physical status on the earth. Some of them even pray that harm will come to others whom they do not like. There are even those who pray that God will take the life of someone.

Do they not realise that those whom they rail against are also God’s children who have as much right to God’s blessings as anyone else.

When you pray to the Father you should always remember who you are and you should remember that the others living upon the earth have just as much right to what you are asking for as you have.

Prayers should be for guidance for yourself and for blessings for those who hate you. Prayers should be for love and enlightenment to be sent to all who are alive upon every part of the Solar System of which we are a part.
