Sitting 47: Work that will continue

Beloved brother we are with you once again to continue with our work and to tell you that this work will continue for a long time. Tonight we would speak to you of the power of prayer. There are a great many who do not understand prayer. Some think that everything should be given to them just because they ask for it. Others have tried it and, because their prayers were not answered every time, now believe that it doesn’t work so it is no use praying. Others know that if your prayer is sincere and that you are asking for the sake of others then there is a very good chance that your prayers will be answered.

Do you know that when you pray there is always someone there to hear it, and they take your prayer and present it to others who will consider it and decide whether it will be granted or not, and also how it will be answered.

You will have heard of many prayers which were answered, but not in the way that was expected.

This is one of the things about prayer which puzzles many people. They expect their prayers to be answered as they want them to be answered. They do not think for a moment that by having their prayers answered how they wish that it will alter their pathway and probably cause them to go off the pathway which they came to earth to follow. This of course would not be in their interest and could mean another incarnation to follow the pathway that they should have walked.

So when you pray and it does not seem to be answered or is answered in an unexpected way, just try to remember that you do not get what you want in this life, but you will always get what is good for you.
