Sitting 64: The life of the spiritualist

Tonight dear friend we would talk of the life of the spiritualist and the work that he does for spirit.

It is very nice to help the band of spirits who come back to the earth plane so that we may assist you on your path.

There is much pleasure to be had when you receive spiritual gifts and use them to assist others in their understanding of spiritual matters etc.

Most of you will work quite happily and integrate your spiritual work with your physical tasks and everything goes well, but, sometimes we come across those who think that their sole purpose in this life is to serve spirit.

This we will say now is NOT the case. Your first duty as a spiritualist is to live your life in a manner in which you complete your journey through this life, and if you have time to aid your spiritual friends then so much the better. If however you find that spirit are taking up all of your free time then be aware that you are overdoing it and you should reduce your commitment not just for an evening a week but for two or three evenings. You have work to do and you should have time to play. If you work full time for spirit then you should make sure that you have enough rest from your work so that you live a life other than the spiritual life.

We would remind you that you are not here to work for spirit alone so give yourself some space in your life for the physical. There are those of course who are here for a special purpose and spirit will direct them through their life but they are few and far between and in any case they also have things to do in their physical life which are not of a spiritual nature.
