Sitting 211: Changing values
As we walk through this life we often find that nothing is really as we think it should be. Each and every aspect of our journey is in an ever-changing way, continually altering and changing in minute ways so that we are continually altering our views of the lifestyle and its progress. It seems that nothing remains the same and we can never be sure of things. Yesterdays values never seem to apply to the prospects and the values of our past held constants.
The trouble with our thinking is basically that we like to believe that to-days values are the same as yesterdays and that tomorrows values should be unchanged for the unseeable future.
The trouble with this way of thinking is that we fail to realise that we have progressed a little further on from yesterday and that tomorrow we will have gone forward a little more which will alter our standards a little more.
This is one of the drawbacks of the religions which always believe that the rules of their faith are God given and are unalterable in any way.
We would draw your attention to the growth of any living thing upon the earth whether it be animal, vegetable or mineral. To start with the being is a tiny crystal or seedling or baby and during its growth it progresses into a structure or plant or adult. It is constantly changing and growing until it becomes old and needs to change into a different form of life.
So too do you, a living being, progress until you need to change into a different life form so that you may grow and evolve into a higher form of life.
