Sitting 423: Religion without choice

Beloved Brother we would speak to you tonight on those who are forced to follow a religion which is not of their choice. There are so many of us upon the earth plane who, though they do not really follow the edicts of the priesthood, are forced to give penance to the state religion because if they do not they will be pilloried and even beaten because they do not conform.

They have no freedom in the matter and they have no choice because those placed in charge of them demand total obedience to the one faith. This, of course, is intolerable but what can these poor people do.

You will find that most of them will verbally agree with what they are told, even though they know that what they are doing is wrong. A fewer number of them will do what they have to do to get by with what they must do to enable them to live in peace and quiet.

Lastly there is the odd one or two who will speak out against the religion and will suffer much frustration because of it.

We have said before that when you meet someone who is adamant that they are right then the only thing you can do is to agree with them that they are right and leave it at that. The fact that you agree with them dispels their need to convert you to their ways and allows you to quietly get on with your own truth.
